Tonya Taylor came to the Pinal County School Office in May, 1999 to serve as Chief Deputy. She served Oracle School District for 16 ½ years prior to that.
Her main duty as Chief Deputy is to assist the County School Superintendent and to act in her absence.
Tonya’s responsibilities to Pinal County include, but are not limited to offer financial assistance to school district offices, assistance with school district budgets, calculate the school district tax rates, act as liaison between the county school office and other county departments, as well as local, state and federal entities. Tonya serves as the official election officer for the county school office with elections that are specific to school elections. She also serves as the financial manager of the office as well as manager of the fiscal services department of all county school office programs.
Tonya is married and has two children and two grandsons. Her hobbies include shopping, camping and spending time with her family.
