Pinal County School Office is proud to announce this year’s winners of the 58th Annual Pinal County Spelling Bee. Our County bee was completed February 19, 2021. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, students and coordinators had to adapt to a virtual format. With the help from Arizona Educational Foundation, who in a few months’ time developed and sent out the online/virtual platform, that was used across the state of Arizona. The winners of the 58th Annual Pinal County Spelling Bee are:
2nd Runner-up: Lamar Chambers from Stanfield Elementary
1st Runner-up: Meledy Moreno from Mountain Vista Elementary (Oracle School District)
Champion: Cody Hooper from Ellsworth Elementary (J.O. Combs Unified School District)
Cody will go on to represent Pinal County in the Arizona State Bee on March 20, 2021.
