SAN TAN VALLEY — Gregory Wyman, superintendent of the J.O. Combs Unified School District, has been named the 2022 All Arizona Superintendent of the Year for Medium Sized Districts from Arizona School Administrators, a press release from the district said.

The annual award recognizes three outstanding superintendents in different-sized districts across the state who have demonstrated accomplishments in numerous areas including governing board relations, leadership in curriculum and instruction, personnel and financial management, and other criteria, according to the press release.

“Dr. Wyman is the type of leader teachers and administrators want to work for. He leads with his heart and supports those around him with praise and guidance,” the nomination applications submitted on behalf of Wyman said. “He is passionate about student success and often sings the praises of this being ‘the best job in the world’ because it means working with kids. Although he wears many hats, you can see that his passion is service to students and making our district the best it can be.”
