Lucid STEM Careers Teacher Workshop

Middle school teachers at Casa Grande Elementary School District were treated to a day of learning on Friday, February 24th.  The outreach group at Lucid is interested in developing Middle School STEM curriculum that can be implemented at local schools, as a way of getting Casa Grande middle school students exposed to careers at Lucid. The team reached out to Pinal County Education Service Agency to develop a plan on how to do that. Education specialists suggested starting with a teacher event to get educators familiarized and excited about the many STEM and STEAM careers available. The teacher workshop had five rotations for the teachers. Four contained hands-on activities for the teachers to learn about the different Engineering and Production careers at Lucid. The fifth rotation was a Ride-Along for the teachers in one of the Lucid Air vehicles. Next steps include bringing a similar awareness type event to the students at the middle schools. The team will then develop middle school curriculum for implementation. Pinal County Education Service Agency will help in that process and hopefully scale that curriculum to other Pinal County School Districts. Click to view video.
